We offer a unique design service.  We evaluate your space and get an understanding of what you like and don’t like, what you want to keep or may need to buy, and how you want the room to look and feel.   Should a sofa be replaced or reupholstered? Will a sectional fit? Where does the TV go?  Together we create your design based on your needs, your style and your budget. And if you already have everything you need but want to elevate it and pull it all together, we will help you make the most of what you own with a fresh eye and design ideas you’ve never thought of.

Your design plan will contain at least one of two digital tools.  A mood board may be created to give you an idea of how the room will come together.  The mood board contains a virtual shopping list with up to two choices per item.  For empty or tricky spaces, a 3D floor plan may be created allowing you to see how your furnishings will fit in your space accurately. If no new items are needed, a detailed written design plan will act as your personal punch list to create a space you will love.

By Design will help you create a gorgeous space with confidence.  Know that you’re buying the right pieces BEFORE you get them in the door.  Unlike traditional interior designers, I do not purchase items on your behalf and sell them to you at a markup.  In some cases, where trade access is needed to procure at item, we will discuss transparent pricing up front. You are able to follow your unique design plan as your budget and schedule allow.

Whether you need a single color on the wall for the painters to begin their work before you move in, or an entire color palette developed for a room that has none, we can answer all your color questions.  Paint is just the beginning.  The total palette of a room incorporates fabrics, flooring, countertops, upholstery, and finishes.  Gina is a Maria Killam Certified True Color Expert, allowing her to identify and utilize the undertones in any color and give you the right result every time.

Buying a new home can be the most exciting and stressful time in your life.  Let By Design help with the transition to your new home.  We can visit your current home and design floor plans for your existing furniture, choose colors for the walls, and help get your new home pulled together quickly and efficiently..

At By Design, we know that rooms evolve.  Perhaps you pick up a new piece in your travels, or items wear out their welcome in your home.  If you are pressed for time or feel that your room needs a “tune up”, your design plan can include art hanging, bookshelf editing, revisiting furniture placement, or an entirely new purpose for a room (baby on the way? working from home?). Our shopping services may be what you need, whether we shop with you or for you. We will make sure you get all those “finishing touches” and the big ticket items just right.

upholstery & window treatments

Whether it’s custom pillows, or a slipcover for a worn sofa, we can help.  Window Treatment solutions include affordable mail order solutions all the way to custom draperies and shades.  We work with your tradespeople or recommend our tried and true favorites!

By Design is great for your small business, your large office, or your retail store. We work with your landlord, contractors, and employees to create a space that literally “works” for everyone involved, including you and your bottom line. With a background in retail Visual Merchandising, we’ve got you and your customers covered as well.

While we aren’t architects or certified Kitchen Designers, at By Design we’ve helped dozens of clients with their add-ons and kitchen & bath renovations.  We work with your contractor to make the whole process run as smoothly and quickly as possible by choosing finishes, problem solving tricky spaces, and helping you bring your vision to life. And if a renovation isn’t in the budget, we’ve helped many clients update their kitchens and baths with paint, hardware, lighting, accessories and textiles, no demolition required.
